The Sydney Basin Symposium provides a forum for geoscientists to share knowledge and advance our understanding of the major sedimentary basins of Eastern Australia. The Sydney Basin Symposium was initiated by the University of Newcastle in 1966, as the long-running symposia series ‘Advances in the Study of the Sydney Basin’.

Available proceedings of the symposia are available from the Coalfield Geology Council (proceedings for SBS 40 and 41 not available online).
